Today I was playing my flute in the Orchestra on the Hill Spring Concert, held this time at my own college, Murray Edwards College. The dome (our dining hall) was a spectacular setting for the concert, for which we were playing a variety of pieces by Brahms, Shostakovich and Beethoven.

I’ve really been enjoying playing in the orchestra this year, although some of the music is quite challenging it is very enjoyable when the whole piece comes together! It’s also a very friendly and relaxed orchestra, with no auditions and just one afternoon rehearsal a week – great for non-music students who want something relaxing and fun near college.
