The Shanghai Science Museum is absolutely huge and filled with all kinds of interesting exhibits and activities. You could easily spend the best part of a day here, particularly with kids – and even for those of us a bit older it will bring out the inner child in you!
The museum is split into multiple sections, each based around a central theme – for example there are rooms on space flight, spiders, fossils, robots, exotic animals, temporary exhibitions and more. Not only are there the usual museum paraphernalia, but also plenty of models (particularly of various exotic animal species) and larger exhibits you can touch or climb all over.
As well as exploring all the wonders of the museum, visitors can also watch documentaries in one of the four theatres.
All zones are accompanied by information in multiple languages, and there are loads of interactive activities for children – everything from pressing information buttons to a huge kids play zone about forces and motion.
