Located in central Shanghai, the Shanghai Museum contains a huge range of exhibits on Chinese modern and traditional culture. The museum is so large it is spread over multiple floors and would take several hours to explore thoroughly.

My favourite sections of the museum have to be those on traditional clothing (so many bright colours!) and ancient official stamps. These included some truly incredible examples of stamp-work, from tiny detailed chops requiring a magnifying glass to see properly to huge official stamps.

This stamp was literally the size of my hand!

There were also several rooms exhibiting ancient pottery and metalwork, artefacts from various minority ethnic groups around China and even traditional board games.

Look familiar?
