Having visited the famous Humble Administrator’s Garden yesterday, today I headed out to a much less well known garden in Suzhou – the Ke Garden. I was pleasantly surprised with this lovely garden. Smaller in size, it is none the less full of lovely paths, cute pagodas and small ponds.

In particular, I loved the foliage – huge drooping willow trees surround various water features, beautifully framing the scene and providing a more cozy atmosphere. On the ponds, waterlilies float on top of swarms of giant fish. But most of all, the lack of crowds meant I could just sit back, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Ticket: 40 RMB (also includes entry to the famous Canglang Pavilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site)
