This stunning mosque is the main iconic building in Marrakesh, standing tall in a small garden above all the surrounding buildings. Just as with other mosques we’ve visited, I was amazed at the architectural details and attention paid to the design. 

One side of the mosque is still in ruins, giving an interesting view of the foundations and interiors of the original building. The main part however, including the stunning tower pictured, has been completely restored.

Although we were unable to enter, this was still an essential sight to see from the outside!
