After exploring the Beijing science museum, I had a few hours to spare wandering around the nearby area. I headed north to the Olympic Forest Park to explore.
This park is absolutely HUGE – judging by the map you could easily spend all day wandering around and not retrace your steps at all! I only spent an hour relaxing in the southern section of the park, enjoying the peace and quiet.
Much of the area I explored was around a large lake, where you could also hire small boats to paddle around.
The park also afforded good views of the Olympic tower.
All in all, a lovely spot to relax and wander around – I'd love to return sometime with friends and a picnic for a chilled afternoon.
