Conveniently located next to the Forbidden City, this lovely park in central Beijing consists of various pagodas, statues and rocks centred around the Alter of Land and Grain. It made a lovely break from the busy city, with some nice places to sit and relax.

There was an interesting section consisting of a wall of fish tanks inside a covered walkway, with some unusual species of fish.

At the northern end of the park is the Maxim Pavilion, designed in western style.

The central Alter of Land and Grain turned out to just be a flat square of dirt in a few different colours.

There were also several pretty pagodas dotted around the park.
